VP, Online Media and E-commerce

The Vice President of Online Media and E-commerce is responsible for the strategic direction and overall management of global online media, web marketing, and e-commerce. This position serves as the evangelizer, innovator, general manager, and hands-on leader of the digital channel. A key component will be to build communities, drive traffic and ultimately sales growth through effective digital media tools and strategic partnerships to achieve corporate objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Reposition the GameShark.com website into a profitable PC/videogame content site, including growth of online advertising and other revenue streams
  • Oversee and grow profitability of the Store.GameShark.com web stores, with emphasis on broadening the sites into leading PC/videogames-focused accessories web stores in addition to serving as a major e-commerce channel for Mad Catz group products
  • Develop web communities to support brands, develop for user experience, online functionality and infrastructure needs, including partnerships with and use of appropriate technologies.
  • Manage direct team of 4 and partner with community evangelists
  • Ensure the day-to-day effectiveness of websites: navigation, search functionality, branding, content, and product presentation and manage corporate sites
  • Oversee hosting and infrastructure
  • Own the global Mad Catz group online P&L

Qualifications:

  • Experience building a profitable online consumer business
  • Bachelors Degree in related field (MBA is highly preferred)
  • 10+ years of Strategic Marketing with a focus on web and digital media
  • Experience in developing online communities and marketing programs - online advertising, email and viral marketing, social network marketing, blogging, PR, etc.
  • Working experience in national and international brand and product marketing
  • Ability to start new enterprises and recognize new online business opportunities
  • Outstanding interpersonal/communications (oral and written) and analytical skills, with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Experience in building effective and productive working relationships across teams and organizational boundaries.

Graphic Designer

The entry-level Graphic Designer requires a reliable, detail oriented yet visionary individual who possesses strong credentials in art & design, as well as the ability to manage a design project from concept through finish. It also requires a style that can flow from corporate to stylistically cool. The position offers a huge variety of responsibilities including: corporate branding, brochures, marketing collateral, identities, packaging, web design and Flash a plus, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Mac-based Adobe PhotoShop CS, Adobe Illustrator CS3, Adobe InDesign or QuarkXpress, and/or other graphic software
  • Understanding of web based design with Flash experience
  • Understand the process of an advertising and/or design studio
  • Have at least three years experience in the electronic entertainment or interactive industry

Product Manager

The Product Manager (PM) is the company’s product expert. This position will focus on console and handheld gaming accessories and be responsible for planning and leading the development efforts of new products from the concept state to production ready. To implement these goals the Product Manager works closely with all departments including Industrial Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain/OPS, sales, and Creative Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, document and communicate 18 month roadmaps
  • Translate consumer needs into the necessary design briefs, MRS, PRF, and other necessary documents to ensure development team can design, build and package product.
  • Act as liaison and technical interface between marketing and other departments including engineering, QA, and manufacturing.
  • Stay current with technology trends
  • Competitive product analysis and expertise
  • Factory and Asia interface during development
  • Project Management
  • Product validation (commercial, usability, market/competitive)
  • Provide training and support marketing managers (globally)

Qualifications:

The successful candidate should have a genuine affinity for gaming and familiarity with Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PS3 / PSP and Nintendo Wii / DS.
  • Marketing, engineering or development related degree
  • 4+ years successful Product Management or Project Management Experience; international product experience a plus
  • Expertise with the product development process, schedule, and product profitability
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, project management, tooling, and product costs
  • Ability to capture consumer requirements technical information in a spec

Industrial Designer – 3D

The Industrial Designer is the company’s product design expert. The position is responsible for driving innovative design with a goal of creating competitive advantage for Mad Catz through design. The role has an emphasis of bringing 2D design into the 3D realm for self generated concepts as well as from other ID resources. To achieve these goals the Industrial Designer works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Creative Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Aesthetic and ergonomic design of new products including:
  • 3D surface modeling and prototyping
  • 2D concept generation, exploration and evaluation
  • Initiate concept design and champion innovative products to team members
  • Define color pallets for new products and updates to existing products
  • Partner with product development and product marketing on:
  • Competitive product reviews
  • Market trends
  • Product definition – Aesthetics, functionality, ergonomics, usability.
  • Design support for Product Requirement Documents (product specification) and Marketing Requirement Documents

  • Ability to convert sketches to orthographic drawings/3D models

IT Technician, Hong Kong

Mad Catz, Inc. is a worldwide leader of innovative peripherals in the interactive entertainment industry. We are seeking energetic, outgoing professionals who value teamwork, creativity and a casual yet fast-paced work environment.

The Information Technology (IT) Technician position provides support to Mad Catz staff based in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, China. This position is responsible for overall support and documentation of support to desktop, laptop, desk phones, and cell phones. Help desk requests are received electronically, via telephone, and in person. This position works with users to provide incident resolution and works with other remote IT staff on incident escalation and resolution. This position also deploys new hardware. Support of Macintosh computers and working with external support providers is also required. This position works collaboratively with network and application systems staff based in the United States.

Responsibilities:
  • Desktop user support including hardware and software installation/update/upgrades.
  • Quickly and accurately troubleshoot and resolve incidents with Windows XP, MS Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and other user applications
  • Coordinate responses with IT staff, external support providers, and other Mad Catz staff
  • Supporting corporate IT infrastructure including LAN/WAN services, Windows servers and firewalls.
  • Accurately document resolutions and incident details in service management system
  • Utilize imaging software (such as Ghost) to maintain standard images of desktop and laptop configurations and keep Windows security updates up to date
  • Set up and deploy new desktop and laptop systems in a timely fashion and install all required software
  • Set up user accounts for network, email, phone, voicemail system, and Active Directory
  • Maintain corporate anti virus and anti spy ware systems
  • Work with Network Administrator for network incident troubleshooting and resolution
  • Monitor daily activities and logs such as backup systems and document/report problems

Qualifications:
  • Fluency of written and spoken English and Chinese/Mandarin, a must.
  • Higher Diploma in Computer Science or related disciplines preferred with A+, MCP, HDI, other relevant certifications; or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience providing support to a diverse user group, including remote users
  • 3+ years working experience in system and network administration.
  • Familiar with LAN/WAN environment with Windows servers, Windows and Macintosh clients, site-to-site VPN connections.
  • Hands on experience managing users within an Active Directory environment
  • Experience with Great Plains or similar applications, a plus
  • Ability to work as a team member within a global environment, yet independently troubleshoot and resolve most support incidents
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Mad Catz technology users both verbally and through email and the service management system
  • Ability to provide end user training on commonly used applications and procedures such as remote connections and backup
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move IT equipment
  • Travel to company sites in Southern China is required.

Regional Marketing Manager, UK

Mad Catz Europe Ltd, a subsidiary of Mad Catz Interactive, Inc., a worldwide leader of innovative peripherals in the interactive entertainment industry, are seeking energetic, outgoing professionals who value teamwork, creativity and a fast-paced work environment. We are currently seeking an EDI Specialist to be based in either our Milton Keynes or Bristol office.

The Regional Marketing Manager is responsible for co-ordinating product launches, marketing products and managing life-cycle for products within the UK territory. Specific brand or product responsibility will also be assigned on a European level. This position is a key role within the European Marketing Team and requires liaison with European, North American and Asian marketing and sourcing teams.

The role will require a high standard of presentation and organization alongside an affinity and understanding of the local and European markets for gaming accessories. Co-ordinating sales teams, leading discussions about product suitability, identifying new opportunities, analyzing market data and working with the logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of new products are just some of the key elements to the role.

Other responsibilities include co-ordination of the European web-stores, working with the global PR team on local press and promotional activities and helping manage customer own-label product initiatives.
