Imagine you’re in a crowd watching your favorite pro-gamer on stage and they ask for volunteers to challenge them. Probably not going to go well for you. What if the pro couldn’t see the screen? Would that make it a little more fair?

Yeah, right! At the Paris Manga & Sci-Fi Show, a random fan was picked out of a crowd to take on Mad Catz’ Marie-Laure “Kayane” Norindr in a match of Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012. With her chair positioned facing the crowd, her back to the dual screens and her opponent, Kayane used her hearing and the crowd reaction as her fighting strategy. “I had to rely on the facial expressions of the crowd to see if I was doing well or not,” Kayane said.

In two rounds, the match was over. We don’t want to spoil it, so watch the beating unfold for yourself!

Come meet Kayane, Daigo “The Beast” Umehara, and more at Mad Catz Unveiled, the night before PAX East! Get your tickets now at the Mad Catz Unveiled site!
