The night was buzzing with excitement as tournaments were streamed live on Mad Catz TV and Twitch, special guests met eager fans, a slew of Mad Catz and TRITTON prizes were taken home, and the “Under The Bridge” venue at the world-famous Chelsea Football Club provided the perfect setting for football fans to see FIFA14 being played live on the eve of its worldwide launch.
There was so much going on that we thought we’d list the top moments of the night:
Professional Gaming VIPs
YouTube sensation KSIOlajidebt arrived at Mad Catz Unveiled to a swarm of adoring fans both at the event and on Mad Catz’ live Twitch stream. KSI has over four million YouTube subscribers on his two channels, which combined have amassed over one billion video views. KSI was on-hand during Unveiled to commentate for tournaments, sign Mad Catz merchandise, answer some Q&As live from Twitter followers, and challenge the winner of our FIFA14 tournament.
Team Dignitas’ Ty Walton was on-hand to mingle with the crowd and offer his FIFA expertise, and Western Wolves‘ fighting game legend Ryan Hart, coming straight from Tokyo Game Show, was more than happy to battle anyone with the nerve to challenge him in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012!
FIFA14 Preview Tournament
Mike from Essex and Chris from Cardiff, finalists of Mad Catz’ online tournament, got the chance to battle it out live at Unveiled, with the winner going head-to-head with KSI. With what some might say was a home team advantage, Chris (playing as ChelseaFC, coincidentally) beat Mike (as PSG) 5-3. KSI then went on to defeat Chris 3-1 in a tense game, owing the victory, he said, to “more experience with FIFA14.”
New Product Demos
Some new Mad Catz products were on display, including the Xbox One Wireless Force Feedback Wheel, the Xbox One Killer Instinct Arcade FightStick T.E.2, and the F.R.E.Q.4D which are all expected to ship in time for the holidays. Alex Verrey, Mad Catz’ Global PR Director also demoed the S.T.R.I.K.E.3 Gaming Keyboard, which is available right now on the Mad Catz (USA & Canada) and GameShark Store (EU).
Attendees also had the chance to get hands-on with the upcoming M.O.J.O. Micro-Console for Android, which was met with rave reviews! We will have more information about the highly anticipated M.O.J.O. coming very soon, so check back often!
Kitted out with Mad Catz and TRITTON peripherals, Mad Catz Unveiled guests were able to try out some eagerly awaited, recently released, and wildly successful classic games including NCSoft’s Wild Star, Sony’s Beyond: Two Souls, EA’s FIFA14, SEGA’s Total War: Rome II, Deep Silver’s Saints Row IV, Namco’s Dark Souls II, and many more!
